Jacob Mullen: who was he? A 17-year-old from Pascagoula River who went missing was found dead
The body of a 17-year-old kid who vanished in the Pascagoula River in Mississippi on Monday night has been found by first responders.
After receiving a report on Monday of an unintentional drowning in the river close to Mixon Lake, authorities launched a nightlong and daylong search on Tuesday.
Jacob Mullen’s body was found late on Tuesday night, around a quarter mile from his last known location.
The teen went beneath close to Mixon Lake, and officials with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks reported that the search had been difficult due to the abundance of tree debris in the water.
The George County Sheriff’s Office posted a message on social media after his abduction on Monday.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol Dive Team, Game & Fish officers, Jackson County Flotilla, Department of Marine Resources, local search and rescue teams, and other emergency officials are all involved in the search for the missing person, according to the GCSO post. “We are immensely appreciative of their efforts and commitment during this trying time.”
