Owensville, Missouri Reven Newbound Boat Accident Man Died in a Boat Accident in the Gasconade River, Killing His Father and Daughter
A father and daughter lost their lives in a watercraft accident on the Gasconade River near Pointers Creek on Sunday night, according to Osage County Sheriff Michael Bonham.
The 20220 Gatorboat was carrying seven people when it crashed on Sunday night at 7 p.m. in Osage County along the Gasconade River, according to the collision report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Reven Newbound, 30, of Owensville, was traveling upstream in a 2002 Gatorboat when it struck a clump of roots and crashed onto a sheer rock face. According to the report, Newbound and a youngster from Owensville who was 7 years old died.
Together with her three children, ages four and nine, and a baby boy, 29-year-old Samantha Newbound of Owensville was one of the four additional victims with serious injuries.
It is alleged that while none of the parents were wearing life jackets at the time of the tragedy, all of the youngsters were. Taylor McClure, a 21-year-old resident of Bland, received emergency care for small cuts.
All those involved in the collision were sent to University Hospital. The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Water Division is currently investigating the accident’s circumstances to determine what led to this unfortunate event.
