Grant Beyer: who was he? Man Died in Route 33 Wrong-Way Crash in Buffalo
A wrong-way collision on Route 33 in Buffalo on Sunday resulted in one man’s death and two injuries.
Around 9:30 p.m., close to the Grider Street exit, Grant Beyer, 26, of Williamsville, was killed when his Nissan Altima, which was driving in the wrong direction, collided head-on with another car.
Following the collision, three injured parties were sent to ECMC, where Beyer eventually passed away.
The injuries sustained by the two occupants of the second vehicle were not life-threatening.
Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia of Buffalo Police stated, “It appears during the investigation that the vehicle was traveling in the wrong direction on the 33.”
“Unfortunately, it does occur occasionally, but it looks like alcohol was a factor in this particular investigation,”
Beyer played football and basketball for Williamsville South High School, Hilbert College, and St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute in addition to being a standout player in high school and college.
