The unfortunate Park Tavern crash claimed the life of a St. Louis Park, Missouri, healthcare professional who was employed at Methodist Hospital.
While pursuing his nursing education, Gabe Harvey worked as a health unit coordinator at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.
When an SUV crashed into the Park Tavern’s patio, Harvey and several other nurses were there to commemorate a colleague nurse’s final ICU shift.
Kristina Folkerts, a Park Tavern waiter, and Gabe Harvey perished in the collision.
Theo Larson, who sustained multiple fractures to his skull, face, and orbit, Tegan D’Albani, who sustained “extensive fractures throughout her body and numerous traumatic injuries,” and Laura Knutsen, who also sustained “extensive fractures” and traumatic injuries, were the other four nurses who were admitted to the hospital.
A GoFundMe has been established in the interim to assist in raising money for Gabe’s family.
“Denzel, Gabe’s partner, and I recently bought a house and were in the midst of settling in. Gabe never met a person he did not make an impression on; he was always smiling and had a pleasant word to say to everyone. He has an unrivaled capacity to include everyone and give them a sense of being noticed and valued. According to the fundraiser, Gabe was tremendously upbeat, intelligent, funny, and compassionate.
Gabe’s boyfriend Denzel requested money to cover his living and funeral costs.
As of the time of publication, the GoFundMe had raised slightly more than $31,000 of the $75,000 target.
The motorist who caused the collision reportedly had a troublesome history of DWIs.
