Jameson, Kaleb Cause of Death: The corpse of a missing Canton boy was found last night after straying from his apartment, according to confirmation from the authorities.
Madison County Sheriff Randy Tucker revealed the details of the discovery of 4-year-old Kaleb Jamison’s death in a small lake near his father’s apartment building on Wednesday morning. Jamison vanished yesterday about midday. Tucker said that the child was found by a diving crew a little distance off the coast in some floating grass.
During the search, Tucker said, agencies from all around central Mississippi were there, including FBI agents ready to begin protocol for a kidnapping if the investigation proceeded in that direction.
The lengthy search got underway yesterday when autistic Kaleb was seen going outside his home on a doorbell video. Tucker claims that the community rallied around the project.
“That community was so nice and treated us so nice, and helped us search and pray and supported each other,” Tucker said. “You don’t see that much anymore.”
Tucker said that the family members have access to assistance for grieving. The Law Enforcement Alliance for Peer Support has also been informed about the incident, and they are ready to help first responders with debriefings.
“It’s tough, but even more so with a child,” said Tucker.
